La Fiaba
Commercial fashion film
La Fiaba is a commercial fashion film produced to advertise the launch of the 2021 spring-summer socks collection by Italian premium fashion brand DèPio. It was shot entirely on location in Botticino (BS), Italy – over the course of 3 days.
The film follows the dreamlike journey of a young girl through a darkly beautiful mansion, populated by a surreal chorus of masked photographers she escapes while confronting herself with a set of magical items inspired by fairytales.
A dreamscape of fashion
Within the narrative, the magic music box dearly kept by the girl represents the passing of time, of which it is the magic guardian – while also becoming a symbol of fashion and style, carrying over as they cyclically regenerate.
The film was shot on a set of vintage Irgonglass lenses providing a warm, lightly glowing look to the many practical lights used. Three different cuts of the film exist in different lengths (respectively 9, 7 and 5 minutes).
